The buns were outstanding. Each bite had the perfect balance of crispy and chewy textures, with a generous amount of savory filling that really hit the spot. My favorite was the pork and cabbage, followed closely by the pork and onion. Both were packed with flavor, and the fillings were juicy and well-seasoned. The buns themselves were very filling, two were more than enough to satisfy my craving, making them a great value for the price. I also picked up 10 of their steamed pork buns for $6.50, which were equally satisfying. The steamed buns had a soft, pillowy texture and were stuffed with a hearty pork filling. While I loved everything I ordered, I do wish they had chili oil available for dipping, which would have elevated the flavors even more. Overall, Lu Xiang Village exceeded my expectations and is now on my list of go-to spots on Bellaire Blvd. If you're craving delicious, well-made buns at a great price, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Portion size was great and the steamed pork buns were delicious! Was able to get 10 for around $7!! Would go again. I did wish that the steamed pork was a bit bigger. It was easy to bite into parts of the buns and not get meat.

A lot of people in this small store. Staff are very friendly and informative about the bao ingredients. The orders were fast. Cash only! I truly enjoyed my salty tofu soup and mini bao.

I had the Bamboo Shoots and Pork Belly dish and the Fish Ball Soup. The first came in a red sauce and was quite delicious. The Fish Ball Soup had a great broth. The actual fish balls had good tasting fish, but the dough was a little pasty. Seems like a restaurant with more authentic Chineese dishes. Some I would probably not venture to try. Enjoy.

I am absolutely all timer fan to this hometown flavor staple with full of north eastern coastal pastries. Flavors are light and classic. Just can't forget to worship my Chinese temple of stomach over here Chinese donuts are huge sized and satisfying all my taste buds, veggie bun, small pork bun, green bean pork bun, stuffed pancake are all authentic. Hmmm, all the homesick are well worth with a sip of simple grind soy milk

The best is their vegetarian rice noodle bao zi. Their straight up pork bun (I think they called it xiao long bao) was not good.. meat looked and tasted dry. (But I am very spoiled w family that makes pork/shrimp buns w great quality ingredients.) The pork and sour veg bun tasted a bit better only bc a bit more flavor from the veg. The pig feet and pig ear was better than Alan's (or whatever was next to the market across Bellaire St... that place is super salty), good soy sauce coloring but it seems to lack a star anise or clove.. a little more kick in the spices (I'm also not from Northern China, which I read is this place??.. so we marinate differently.) Soy milk was nice and hot and real w sludge left over. The veggie and pork/veggie bai zi are huge. I'm not dying to return, but would just get their veggie bao zi.

Not to be confused with Loo Shag, which is what Barbie and I have done a few times when we just couldn't wait for the hotel. Ew. This is specialty Northern Chinese food which includes things like buns and dumplings and lots of, well how do I describe it? Chinese jerky, if you like. It's all really delicious and it's all really unique and perfect. Honestly, one of my favorite little places in Chinatown, and one which I bet I will be coming back to on a regular basis.

I've parked my car in front of this store so many times in the last few years, but didn't actually venture in until recently when I was craving buns and remembered that a friend had highly recommended this place for just that. We got a few different ones to try. Our favorite was the string bean and pork bun (四季豆猪肉包), super flavorful and the two main ingredients mixed together very nicely. We also got a grilled Chinese leek and pork pie (韭菜猪肉馅饼), a set of steamed pork buns (小笼包 - note, these are not your typical Shanghai-style xlb; the filling is similar, but it's not a soup dumpling, it's a bun so thicker skin), and a bunch of red bean buns, all of which were very tasty as well. We ended up with enough food for 2-3 meals, and it cost only $16!! Can't wait to come back again. The buns re-heat very well, so buying extra and saving for later is definitely an option.

I was at a bank ATM next door and looked over the fence, "eh? Something new over there." I curiously walked into this bright restaurant and immediately greeted by the owner/chef, Mr. & Ms. Wang. They introduced the store and foods to me. They used to occupy a concession space at former Dun Hua Supermarket. It was like a long-lost relative to me. Yeah, I remember how much I loved their food. I wouldn't call this as a restaurant. It's more like a food stand with large kitchen and a small sitting area. They specialize in Shandong-style food (a province in Northern China), as known as Lu cuisine in China. I immediately recognized the steamed buns and spiced meats. There are more to explore with their foods. But I'd rather save them for you to try.
